BAMBOO BODY BAMBOO MIND
- Progression Sessions. 4 part series of workshops
A series of workshops that work off of Shoshin. The Zen Japaneses Buddhist word for the beginners mind. There is a concept in Zen Buddhism known as shoshin, which means “beginner's mind.” Shoshin refers to the idea of letting go of your preconceptions and having an attitude of openness when studying a subject. When you are a true beginner, your mind is empty and open. Shoshin refers to adopting a mindset of humility and curiosity when approaching a subject — even if one is already at an advanced level.
‘No one has truly mastered movement until it can be used in a multitude of ways'.
‘All fixed set patterns are incapable of adaptability or pliability. The truth is outside of all fixed patterns'
- Bruce Lee

Open to all levels. Movers & Practitioners. These workshops are helpful for moving beyond the practice and learning deeper.
understanding your capabilities or how to take your teaching to another level.
First and foremost to create a wider perspective around movement culture with a positive outlook and dialogue.
Second, the intention is to provide tools and support the development of Movers and specialists - practitioners of both isolated movement practices as well as wider spectrum ones.
Why 4 workshops?
It has taken me over 21 years to develop the skills and mindset that I live by today around movement. I have dedicated my whole life to looking at movement in all angles. This cannot be taught in an hour nor through 4 workshops. To even begin to step deeper into the opportunities movement can offer we must first and foremost show discipline and secondly work with time.

Combining
Different movement patterns, designed to improve the quality of life and longevity of human beings. Such as Yoga, Mobility, Calisthenics, Mixed Martial Arts & Meditation. Exploring movement in this way integrates a zen approach from the practice of meditation and through mindset training that can be applied when exploring a wider perspective on the practice. The physical demand of practicing in this way reshapes thought patterns and ways we look at and treat our bodies. It introduces a number of transitions not commonly found in traditional yoga including spinal undulations, spiral transitions, and martial arts stances.
